Socialist Labour Network was launched in January 2022. SLN was formed by the merger of Labour Against the Witch-hunt and Labour in Exile Network. Our primary purpose is to continue to resist the witch-hunt and network socialists who have either been expelled from the Labour Party or left the Party in dismay and disgust at the direction Labour is going under the leadership of Keir Starmer.
SLN is led by a steering group of ten members who were elected at the first all member meeting of SLN.
SLN membership is open to all those who pay the annual membership fee, including those who remain in the Labour Party, those who have been unfairly suspended or expelled in the last five years and those who have resigned from the Labour Party in despair of the party’s direction of travel under Keir Starmer and Dave Evans. SLN urges all those who oppose the witch-hunt against the left to stay in the Party and fight.
The national all-members meeting is the highest decision-making body of SLN and it elects the Steering Group. The Steering Group is the highest decision-making body between all-members meetings. Decisions are taken by simple majorities of members voting in any properly constituted meeting (excluding abstentions).
We encourage the setting up of autonomous SLN Socialist groups (‘shadow CLPs’) to see through campaigns and initiatives. We encourage members of these groups to join the fortnightly SLN meetings to network with others and share information and campaigns.
