Labour in Exile Network was launched on February 27 2021.

LIEN membership is open to all those who pay the annual membership fee, including those who remain in the Labour Party, those who have been unfairly suspended or expelled in the last five years and those who have resigned from the Labour Party in despair of the party’s direction of travel under Keir Starmer and Dave Evans. LIEN urges all those who oppose the witch-hunt against the left to stay in the Party and fight.
LIEN is set up as a non-geographical CLP much along the lines of the International Labour CLP. This makes it clear we are not accepting our suspensions/expulsions from Labour.
The national all-members meeting (including conference) is the highest decision-making body of LIEN and it elects the Steering Group. The Steering Group is the highest decision-making body between all-members meetings. Decisions are taken by simple majorities of members voting in any properly constituted meeting (excluding abstentions).
We encourage the setting up of autonomous LIEN working groups to see through campaigns and initiatives. They are run by coordinators who regularly report back to the LIEN SG.
